Imphal, January 11 2018: Living Arts Academy Manipuri Thang-Ta observed the 79th birth anniversary of Sinam Devabrata Singh, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, Manipuri Martial Art Thang-Ta, at Takyel Lampak community hall, Tera Khuraijam Leirak today.

On the occasion, Imphal West Zilla Parishad Upa-Adhyaksha Ngasekpam Bimola, Pradhan Salam Pradip and Bijoy Govinda Gram Panchayat Members were felicitated.

A book based on Thang-Ta was also released.

Speaking at the function, Sukham Sunil, principal of the academy said that the birth anniversary has been observed to improve the relation between teachers and students of Thang-Ta.

He narrated that (L) Sinam Devabrata Singh was born on January 10, 1939 and was awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1992.Director, EMRC, Manipur University, Nongthombam Premchand, former Director, NEZCC, India, A Birendra attended the event as the presidium members.
