Imphal, June 10 2011:
Categorically dismissing media reports that dissensions in the top rung of the GPRN/NSCN (NSCN-K) had led to impeachment and subsequent expulsion of its chairman SS Khaplang, a statement issued by the outfit's MIP/GPRN clarified that there is no such negative development in the organisation.
NSCN would like to clarify that opinions expressed by some members in private on the split in the Khehoi camp following the impeachment and expulsion of its chairman SS Khaplang have found its way to the press as appeared in some local papers, the MIP statement said.
Asserting that the NSCN has officially not discussed anything on the matter in any manner whatsoever as it is an internal matter of the Khehoi Camp, it conveyed that what has appeared in the paper does not reflect the opinion of the organisation/government.
Further expressing that either the report is the opinion shared by some individuals or the reporter simply being carried away by the issue, the MIP apart from disowning the report advised its members to exercise caution in expressing any comment on such sensitive matter.
Anyone doing so would face serious action, cautioned the rebel group.
