Imphal, January 10 2024: Close on the heels of the visit of GOC Spear Corps Lt Gen HS Sahi and Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen PC Nair to Moreh, Kuki militants once again attacked Special Commandos using sophisticated weapons today at around 6.55 pm at Moreh town.

Some Special Commandos led by the SP in- charge were on normal duty at Moreh Ward Number 7 near Moreh Hospital when they came under fierce attack from Kuki militants.

Apart from other sophisticated weapons, the Kuki militants also reportedly used sniper rifles, sources informed.

There is no report of any injury on the side of the security personnel.

Sources also said that heavy security measures have been put in place and security personnel have been kept on high alert in all vulnerable areas of Moreh.

However, the situation still remains very tense.
