MASLSA observes 'International Women's Day'

One day awareness cum interaction programme for the widow/abandoned women was organised by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) at Pheijaleitong community hall, Thongju yesterday.
The programme was organised as a part of 'International Women's Day' celebration and as a part of the project 'Empowering the widows/abandoned women of Manipur' initiated by MASLSA to provide an opportunity for this section of the society to get rehabilitated to rejoin the society, make them stand of their own feet, to improve their children's live and to become self-sustaining contributors of growth, said a statement issued by MASLSA today.
In another instance one day awareness cum legal aid and health card enrolment camp for women was also organised by Top Chingtha Village Level Federation (Mangal Piba and Tengbang Piba) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority as a part of the project 'Break the Silence' initiated by MASLSA, added the statement.
Resource person Ch Momon Singh, advocate, MASLSA addressed the women on free legal aid and existence of various legal services institutions in the state.
Similar programmes were also organised at Heingang Awang Leikai, Imphal East; Khugdongyon Village, Chandel; SDWA hall, Senapati and at Women's Forum, Imphal West by the respective District Legal Services Authorities, added the statement.
