According to his family, Doin Suna went missing since October 14 this year.
Information that he was in fact in Manipur, reached his family in Meghalaya only after film actor Lokendra gave photographs, video recordings and information about the missing man to an individual from Shillong who made sure that the news was carried by a Meghalaya based newspaper.
Lokendra found Doin Suna roaming around his residence at Lalambung during the wee hours of October 17, and provided food and shelter to him.
Thereafter, Jowai A/C MLA (same A/C where Doin Suna resides) Wailadmiki Shylla contacted Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar and requested assistance in tracing the missing man.
The Deputy Chief Minister then instructed the State's DGP to do the needful.
Doin Suna was finally handed over to the Jowai A/C MLA at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong, today.
Speaking to media persons after handing over Doin Suna, Wailadmiki Shylla expressed gratitude to the people of Manipur, especially those who helped in providing food and shelter, as well as to the Deputy Chief Minister and Manipur Police for the warm hospitality shown to Doin Suna and assistance provided to the Meghalaya Government.
He said that the people of Manipur are noble and kind hearted and added that Doin Suna might not have been found if not for the people of Manipur.
He further conveyed gratitude to Manipur Government on behalf of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
