Churachandpur, March 08 2017:
LJP candidate Thangkhangin, NPP candidate T Nengzakham Tombing, INC candidate Chinkholal Thangsing and an Independent candidate P Khamsanglian in Thanlon AC jointly addressed the press today and issued a joint statement wherein they said that they are deeply shocked and appalled at the blatant use of force, intimidation, coercion of voters and booth capturing by the BJP candidate and his workers on the polling day of the first phase polls.
They alleged that an armed group that is presently under SoO pact incited fear among voters to cast their vote for the BJP candidate.
The militants threatened the voters of dire consequences and demanded 80-90 per cent vote from the polling agents.

"They frightened off and prevented voters and the polling agents from performing their duties.
In some of the polling booths, voters who are not in favour of BJP were prevented from casting their votes and the EVM machines were tampered using bamboo sticks by tapping up the entire button except BJP", said the four candidates.
The high rate of polling percentage which is 80.97 as against 43.63 in the last election is also a clear indication of the booth capturing, they added.
Of the 38 polling stations in the entire Assembly segment, these candidates had sought a re-poll in 21 but re-poll has been ordered for tomorrow in 6 stations, the highest in the district.
Not content with the number of polling stations where repoll has been ordered, which they said was meagre and did not include many polling stations where malpractices were committed, the candidates demanded justice, free and fair election and the right to exercise voting rights.
They also demanded that the CEC must address the case swiftly and initiate disqualification process for the BJP candidate.
