Imphal, October 07 2015:
A week after the first case of Dengue was confirmed in the district, the Medical Department has pulled up its sleeve to effectively tackle any outbreak with fogging exercises continuing for the fourth day and health workers embarking on a house-to-house survey to educate the public as well as to look out for any suspected cases, rpoets our CCpur correspondent.

'We have collected blood samples from 56 people today and they have been sent to Imphal for investigation.
One suspected case has been admitted to the district hospital as well,' said the CMO Dr Thangchinkhup Guite.
Fogging exercises will continue and the house-to-house survey will also go on until the entire township is covered, he added.
It may be noted here that 5 out of the 8 samples tested last week have returned positive on Thursday last while 5 more cases were confirmed four days later, taking the total cases of Dengue in the district to 10 .
