Sanajaoba calls on Union Edn Minister

Imphal, September 07 2021: Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba on Tuesday called on Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at New Delhi to expedite the process of upgrading Manipur University of Culture (MUC) to Central University.

Reportedly, the Union Minister had also assured of speeding up the process.

The MP who is also the titular king of Manipur was accompanied by Vice Chancellor of MUC Prof Paonam Gunindro and his media advisor Maisnam Shivadutta Luwang.

At the meeting, Leishemba Sanajaoba gifted one reed pot and a shawl to the Union Minister along with a memorandum for upgrading the MUC.

The MP further apprised that MUC is the second university of culture of the country after Utkal University of Culture at Odisha.

It is reported that the titular king will take up the matter to Union Culture and Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy and MoS Education RK Ranjan too.

It may be mentioned that Leishemba Sanajaoba demanded upgradation of MUC which was established in 2015 in the recent Monsoon session of the Parliament.
