Imphal, September 07 2014:
The contention against deployment of State security forces at Imphal as well as the demand of alternative political arrangement for Nagas of Manipur outside the Government of Manipur are implausible and unacceptable.
CPI would fight any attempt to disintegrate Manipur, asserted former Minister N Mangi.
Speaking at the 45th local conference of CPI Kshetrigao Local Council at Kongba Nongthombam Leikai today, N Mangi who is also president of Manipur Loumi Marup stated that the Government of Manipur's administration should cover all the territory of Manipur irrespective of topography.
CPI would fight back in a befitting manner if any forces dare to challenge the integrity of Manipur which was safeguarded by Jananeta Irabot, Mangi said.
To safeguard the identity of Manipur and protect indigenous people of both the hills and valley who have been living together since ages, Inner Line Permit System should be enforced in the State.
Manipur exists today because Hijam Irabot resisted the Government of India's attempt to form Purvanchal Pradesh by merging together some parts of the Northeastern region with its capital at Silchar in 1948 .
Talking about the by-election to Hiyanglam A/C, Mangi remarked that the decision of late MLA Kunjo's son to contest the by-election on BJP ticket rather than representing his father's party exposed the son's lack of principle.
