Polling parties to set out today

Polling parties which have been assigned duties for the 17th Lok Sabha election in Outer Manipur PC on April 11 would start leaving for their respective polling stations from tomorrow.
Speaking to this reporter at his office today, CEO PK Singh said that polling parties assigned election duty at the polling stations of Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Churachandpur would start leaving for their respective destinations from tomorrow.
In the first phase, 14 polling parties of Ukhrul, 12 polling parties of Tamenglong and 62 polling parties of Churachandpur would set out tomorrow.
61 polling parties of Chandel, 62 polling parties of Ukhrul, 77 polling parties of Tamenglong and 56 other polling parties of Churachandpur would set out on April 8.Other remaining polling parties would go to their respective polling stations one day before the poll, PK Singh said.
The CEO also appealed all polling personnel to discharge their duties without any sense of fear and all voters to exercise their right to vote with complete freedom.
Notably, 90 companies of Central paramilitary forces and State armed forces have been deployed in Outer Manipur PC where eight candidates are contesting.
One Indian Air Force helicopter would arrive at Imphal tomorrow to cater to emergency medical requirements at far off places in the course of the election, said the CEO.
Out of the total 1561 polling stations in Outer Manipur PC, 227 have been categorised as critical polling stations, 171 as vulnerable polling stations while 198 polling stations would be exclusively manned by women personnel.
Moreover, there would be 32 model polling stations in Outer Manipur PC which has a total of 10,10,618 electors.
