Human chain decries inaction of Delhi

Imphal, September 06 2024: A number of people including students formed human chains at different places of the State today as a protest against the alleged inaction of the Central and State Governments despite the increasing hostility against the Meeteis.

The protest was held as per the direction of COCOMI.

Some of the common slogans which were raised at multiple protest sites were to remove Central forces who can't protect the lives and properties of civilians from the State and to declare all Kuki militant groups as terrorist organisations.

Protesters were also heard shouting "Drone bombing is an act of terrorism" and "We condemn the treatment of the people of Manipur by the Govt of India and the spinelessness of the Manipur Govt" at most of the sites where human chains were formed.

Students of schools and colleges formed human chains along different road stretches in Imphal and chanted slogans and across other valley districts.
