Imphal, August 06 2023: Although post mortem examination of all the three Meitei victims slain by Kuki militants while they were sleeping at Kwakta Ward No 8 yesterday has been completed, the last rites have been put on hold.

Yumnam Pishak, Yumnam Premjit alias Premkumar and Yumnam Jiten were shot and hacked to death by Kuki militants in the wee hours of August 5 .

Family members of the victims said that they came to RIMS mortuary to facilitate post mortem but the mortal remains would be claimed after consultation with local people, clubs and CSOs and an understanding is reached with the Government.

Yumnam Sanjoy, son of late Pishak and elder brother of late Premjit said that the triple murder of August 5 is a blood-curdling act of terrorism.

Yumnam Yaima, younger brother of late Yumnam Jiten, appealed to the Government to provide a means of livelihood for Jiten's wife and three children.
