Imphal, August 05 2024: One personnel of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was killed when a DI Tata in which they were travelling met with an accident at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, Bishnupur district under Moirang police station at around 3 pm today.

Three others including the driver of the vehicle escaped with injuries.

The DI Tata was carrying timber for construction of 9-ITBP's barrack at Tronglaobi.

One 9-ITBP personnel identified as Patil Sunil Dhanaraj succumbed to injuries on the way to Moirang CHC.

Apart from Md Arish Khan (27) s/o late Hakim of Kwakta, two other 9-ITBP personnel identified as Brijkishore and Kamalkant sustained injuries in the accident.

The injured victims have been brought to RIMS while the body of the deceased personnel has been deposited in RIMS mortuary.
