Imphal, July 05 2014 :
Congress MLAs who have been demanding replacement of all the incumbent 10 Cabinet Ministers including the Speaker held a meeting with a motive to find out what AICC president Sonia Gandhi told Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam on the matter.
On the other hand, Chief Minister O Ibobi who visited The Sangai Express Editor Hijam Rajesh at Shija Hospital today, when enquired about the demand for Ministry reshuffle, maintained that he has very little to comment of the demand as it is an internal matter of Congress party.
Chief Minister O Ibobi today called on Governor VK Duggal at the Raj Bhavan and discussed about development issues of the State for almost one hour.
Even though the Governor is scheduled to leave for Delhi tomorrow, it is not clear whether the issue of Ministry reshuffle figured during the meeting or not.
The meeting held this evening discussed on who and who should go to meet the Chief Minister on Monday morning and how would they react to whatever they may be told by the Chief Minister.
One MLA informed that, as assured by the Chief Minister to have another round of meeting after his return from Delhi, they have been given appointment in the morning of July 7 .
The Chief Minister's view and what the party's high command said on the demand of Ministry reshuffle may be ascertained during the meeting on July 7 .
If it turns out that the party's high command wishes to maintain status quo while the Chief Minister favours reshuffle, the MLAs would go to Delhi and lobby with AICC directly.
Given the significance of the meeting with the Chief Minister on July 7, a meeting was held this meeting to chalk out a political strategy, said the MLA.
Claiming that the demand for Ministry reshuffle is not fighting for ministerial berths, the MLA said that Ministry reshuffle would bolster the Chief Minister's position apart from strengthening the party.
The move is also in line with the Chief Minister's earlier assurance.
