Thoubal, June 05 2022: Progressive United Club's Organisation (PUCO) and Khongjom Circle COVID-19 Relief Committee (KCC) have spoken out against the transfer order of Dr Jenifer Leishangthem, MBBS, from PHC, Khongjom, Thoubal.

In separate releases, PUCO and KCC strongly condemned the transfer order which was issued on June 2 and urged the Government to revoke the order at the earliest.

The organisations shared that Dr Jenifer Leishangthem and Dr Shamananda Singh (Ayush) had worked tirelessly for the people of Khongjom Circle when the pandemic was at its peak.

"These two brave doctors along with a few available staff helped the people of Khongjom Circle in combating the pandemic", it added.

Stating that there have been many instances of the people of Khongjom Circle publicly expressing their gratitude to these two doctors for their services, the organisations condemned the transfer of Dr Jenifer Leishangthem and urged the Government to revoke her transfer order.

PUCO, KCC further cautioned that the people of Khongjom Circle will take up agitations if the Government failed to meet their demand.
