Two remanded to judicial custody

Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West today remanded self style finance secretary Longjam Arjun and self style assistant finance secretary Naorem Dilip of KCP (MJC) to 8 days police custody till December 11.Longjam Arjun alias Naobi alias Ingba Meitei, 32, of Samurou Makha Leikai and Noarem Dilip alias Wangamba, 31, of Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai were brought to Imphal yesterday morning by a team of State police after they were arrested by Bihar police.
They were brought to Imphal after taking seven days transit remand from a Bihar Court in connection with a case registered against them at Singjamei Police Station under different Sections of IPC and explosive Act.
During the hearing today, IO (Investigating Officer) of Singjamei Police Station through Assistant Public Prosecutor submitted that a case was registered against the two persons in connection with the hand grenade explosion at the south western drain of Lourembam Enterprise located at Heijingang market, Canchipur owned by Lourembam Rame of Kyamgei Mamang Leikai in April 2020 .
During the course of investigation specific information was received that the two were hiding at Jogbani area of Araria district, Bihar.
Further, a police team of Imphal West was sent to Jogbani Bihar to effect their arrest with the assistance of Bihar police.
On preliminary interrogation, the accused persons admitted to have committed the offence and revealed that they were working under the command of self style president/general secretary of KCP (MJC) Sapam Surjit alias Anju Meitei alias Lamyanba, 41, of Bashikhong, submitted the 10 and prayed the Court for 8 days police custody of the two.
The Court after hearing the submissions of IO, remanded the accused persons to 8 days police custody till December 11 .
