Imphal, October 04 2014 : In its effort to beautify the town, the Manipur Architects' Forum (MAF) has offered to design the houses that were torn down during the Keishampat-Airport road expansion drive recently free of cost.

Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club today, President of Manipur Architects' Forum, P Krishnakumar Sharma urged all the affected house owners to submit the photographs of their houses to the forum.

He also said the forum would observe the World Architecture Day 2014 with the theme 'Healthy Cities, Happy Cities' on October 6 at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound.

Informing affected house owners to register with the forum on the occasion, Krishnakumar also urged them to submit the photographs of the houses the same day.

He promised the house owners that the designs would be completed within a week's time.

He added that the World Architecture Day observance would be attended by Dr RK Nimai, L Mangi Singh, Retd Sr Architect of PWD and M Uma Devi, Architect of PDA as the chief guest and guests of honour respectively apart from architects from outside.

There are 37 registered architects with the forum.
