First quarantine baby and parents found negative for COVID-19

Kangpokpi, June 04 2020:
Parents of Emmanuel Quarantino, the first quarantine baby in the state, were discharged from the Institutional Quarantine Centre after their sample sent for COVID-19 test was found negative along with other inmates who also tested negative today.
53 inmates including Emmanuel Quarantino and his parents who were under surveillance at the Emmanuel School, Haipi were discharged after their tests came back negative.
However, they were advised for another 14 days of surveillance at their respective CQC or Home Quarantine.
The parents and the baby were reportedly kept at CQC at Salem Veng in Ward No 9, Kangpokpi DHQs but later shifted to home quarantine on the advice of the doctor.
Another 22 inmates from EMRS Gamnom Saparmeina and 12 inmates from Manipur Theological College, Mission Campus, Ward No 10 were discharged today after their sample result were also found to be negative.
According to the Medical Department, a total of around 400 inmates from various IQCs whose samples came back negative have been discharged till today.
Meanwhile, with the five new confirmed positive cases yesterday, Kangpokpi district have 8 confirmed cases till filing of this report.
The District Magistrate/DC Kangpokpi, Somorjit Salam issued separate orders declaring BIET Centre, Leikop IQC, Damdei Christian College, Taloulong IQC and Goma Devi High School, Toribari IQC as containment zone.
Sealing of the geographical areas, entry and exit of population from the containment areas, closure of the school and public gathering of any types, banning of vehicle movement near the area and initiating active surveillance of COCAINE cases are the containment measures as mentioned in the orders.
