IGNTU demands

The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Students' Union Regional Campus, Manipur have submitted a charter of demands to the authority concerned regarding the greivances of the students, St Lelen Vaiphei, Assistant Secy, Information and Publicity, IGNTU-RCM said in a statement issued to the media.
Inspite of repeated appeals and requests, the University authority did not paid any heed, the statement said.
The IGNTU Students' union demanded an immediate release of Department fellowship for M.Phil Scholars for the 2012-13, 2-13-14 bacth; an immediate approval of external Study tour proposal; to bring out white paper and transparency in processing NEC project for IGNTU-RCM sports complex.
It also stressed on the lack of administrative efficiency and lack of coordination between the Director-in-charge, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar and the students body.
Misused of funds, where the Regional campus has transacted more than Rs 3,83 Cr for the construction of the sports complex without the knowledge of the concerned authority, ST Lelen Vaiphei stated.
The Students' Union also urged the State Government to expedite the road construction from makhan to NH-2 and to install electricity abd water supply at the amin campus.
It also warned that the union will collaborate with tribal's frontal organisations and resort to other forms of agitations if the Government fails to meet the demands.
