BSF attacked

Troops of 49th BSF were attacked by some unidentified armed per-sons using bomb and bullets at Laikoiching, Imphal East dis-trict under Lamlai police station at around 10 am today.
BSF troops were patrolling the area on foot when unidentified persons triggered an IED followed by a volley of gunfire.
BSF troops retaliated but there is no report of any casualty on either side.
Meanwhile, claiming the attack the Manipur Naga National Front (MNPF) said bomb and other firing weapons were used by its armed wing Manipur Naga People's Army (MNPA) to target troops of 49Bn C-Coy BSF in between Laikoiching and Leisiphung, Senapati district this morning.
It has been learnt from nearby villagers that four BSF personnel were killed in the attack while some others escaped with injuries, said a press release issued by the outfit's assistant publicity secretary Thomas Numai.
MNPF would continue its fight against the alien regime and their military until all the indigenous communities of Manipur are liberated.
Calling upon all the suppressed people and the region to fight the alleged colonial rule collectively, MNPF pledged that it would work towards this end.
It further called upon Naga community of Manipur to repose their faith in the collective strength of all indigenous communities.
