Imphal, August 03 2024: Violating all the established rules and regulation, a retired faculty member of the College of Agriculture (COA) which is under Central Agricultural University (CAU) has been re-appointed.

The Registrar of CAU issued an order on July 31, 2024 saying that the Vice Chancellor has given consent to relieve the particular faculty member on the same day as he has reached the age of superannuation (65 years) .

Strangely, the Registrar issued another order on the same day whereby the faculty member was re-appointed as a Professor of Soil Science at COA.

The order also gave additional charges of Dean and Director of Instruction to the faculty member.

As per a recommendation of the CAU Selection Committee and the Board of Management, the VC has given consent to let the Dean work as a Professor of Soil Science for six months or until further notice is issued, said the second order issued by the Registrar.

The re-appointment done in blatant violation of established rules has demoralised teaching staff, non-teaching staff and scientists of COA, sources said.

Notably, there are 13 colleges under CAU and COA Iroishemba is one of them.
