Imphal, May 03 2023:
Expressing concern over the prevailing situation in Manipur, BJP State unit president A Sarda Devi has appealed to the people of Manipur to hold a dialogue with the State Government to find a solution for their grievances peacefully.
Addressing the media at its office at Nityaipat Chuthek today, A Sarda continued that the Manipur Government hasn't done anything specific which can hurt the sentiment of any communities residing in Manipur while implementing developmental projects.
Claiming that the BJP Government advocates peaceful coexistence of all, she said that the Manipur Government is open to discussions to solve problems besieging the State.
Establishment of an Ethnic Park at Moirang Khunou to showcase the traditions and customs of different communities living in the State is a validation that the Government advocates peaceful coexistence of all, she added.
Saying that Chief Minister N Biren is quite pro-active when it comes to building healthy society and he has been installing open gyms at different parts of the State, the BJP State unit chief said that the episode at Churachandpur where a group of people vandalised an open gym before inauguration was unfortunate.
Further stating that the vandalised open gym was only for the people of Churachandpur, A Sarda reminded that a medical college was also opened at Churachandpur recently to bring inclusive development and provide better healthcare facilities to the people.
She then appealed to all people including politicians to refrain from politicising the issue during this difficult juncture.
Saying that some politicians targeting the Chief Minister over the developing scenario is unfortunate and it only indicates their ability to think properly, A Sarda said that BJP strongly condemns people's representatives making unparliamentary expression.
She went on to clarify that the War on Drugs campaign of the Government doesn't target any community in particular.
Further stating that War on Drugs was launched to mitigate the harm done by widespread deforestation for poppy plantations to the environment and also leave behind a better future for the younger generations, Sarda appealed to the people to refrain from making baseless and derogatory statements which may mislead the people.
