Imphal, March 03 2012:
The Kuki National Front (KNF) has vehemently rejected the allegation that its cadres assaulted four villagers of Parsain in the night of March 2 .
As a SoO signatory, KNF rigorously abides by the restrictions of the Election Commission of India nor did the party had any involvement in the Assembly elections for the sake of communal harmony.
A press release issued by KNF general secretary Aaron Kuki stated that they cannot afford to land themselves in trouble and put the political peace process at stake by violating the SoO ground rules.
The news report about assault on Parsain villagers by KNF was contradictory as to why the blame should be put on the party if the four villagers have been assaulted by the armed cadres asking why they did not vote for the Congress candidate.
The allegation was illogical and ridiculous.
If KNF believed in winning election by using force, the party would have acted on this line before the day of polling but this never happened.
The general secretary went on to say that the allegation is just a malicious election strategy of some candidates to mislead the ECI.
The outfit asked the candidates not to play on communal lines for the sake of their personal gain since it is a sensitive issue.
The general secretary added that KNF believes in peaceful co-existence.
