Imphal, February 02 2014:
KNF (N) has categorically stated that the outfit has nothing to do with the abduction cases reported in the State during the past two months.
Speaking to media persons somewhere in Sadar Hills, KNF(N) president Dr Napoleon Kremlim said that different quarters have been pointing their fingers to the outfit for the abduction cases taking advantage of the fact that KNF(N) is not a party to the SoO pact.
Abduction (of people) for ransom is against the ideology and principle of KNF(N) .
Some elements might have used the name of KNF(N) in committing such criminal activities but KNF(N) was never involved in such activities, Dr Napoleon said.
Hailing the collective decision of Kuki Inpi Saikul, other civil society organisations and Meira Paibis to fight the scourge of abduction, Dr Napoleon assured that KNF(N) would put in its best efforts to control such criminal activities.
The outfit would now keep a sharp eye on all development programmes taken up by the Government within its operational area even to the extent of banning these works.
Dr Napoleon said that the outfit has been constrained to take such a stand as Government projects remain impressive only on paper while in reality the benefits of these projects never reach the people.
Saying that KNF(N) has been struggling for establishment of Kukiland in accordance with the aspiration of its founder Nehkholun, Dr Napoleon asked Government departments to inform the outfit first if they should implement any project within the operational area of KNF(N) .
Alleging that Kangpokpi PHED office and Saikul SDO office are functioning from Imphal, the president said they would keep a sharp vigil on these offices.
He further informed that they would monitor the PMGSY work of repairing the Ngairon Chingjin to Salam Patong road.
For this, a special task force has been constituted, he added.
