AMGSU's cultural dance competition culminates in style

The State level cultural dance competition organised by All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union concluded in style on Sunday at Kanglatongbi.
The first State level Nepali/Gorkha cultural dance competition was conducted in two phases.
The first round was conducted online while the final round was held at Multipurpose Hall Shree Shree Durga Mandir, Shantipur, Kanglatongbi.
The closing ceremony was attended by Lt Col Hem Sagar Uprety, 2IC 33 Assam Rifles; LB Adhikari, president AMGSU; Mani Kumar Limbu, president Nepali Sanskriti Suraksha Parishad Manipur and Deepa Thapa, Upa-Pradhan Kanglatongbi GP as presidium members.
Rahul Rai Bogiko, Sunita Baskota, Santosh Dahal, Trijana Basnet, Bikash Karki, Prakash Siwakoti and Kailash Bishwakarma were the judges.
It was also attended by AMGSU Advisory Board members, president, secretary, executives of Gorkha Welfare Union, Manipur Gorkha Youth Association, Nepali Sahitya Parishad Manipur, Nepali Sanskriti Suraksha Parishad Manipur, social leaders, representatives of all the 17 AMGSU Units, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Col Hem Sagar Uprety lauded AMGSU for its initiatives and motivated all to focus on children's education to prepare the future generations as well as for all round development.
In the single dance category, Prajakta Basnet of Kanglatongbi unit won the first position while Aditi Bhandari of Moreh unit and Chanda Devi Mainali of Charhajare unit won the second and third positions respectively.
In group dance category, Varsha Khatiwoda and Aarati Phuyel of Kalapahar Unit won the first position while Prashana Acharya, Priyanka Acharya, Laxmi Acharya, Anu Gautam, Ritika Khanal, Riya Chhetry of Moreh Unit; and Sweta Poudel, Melina Basnet, Nanuka Adhikari of Serou unit bagged the second and third positions respectively.
