Imphal, June 30 2011:
Welcoming the 'Manual on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (for class XI and XII)' that the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur has come up with, All Students' Guardians' Organisation, Manipur has suggested that the knowledge of the manual should not be just confined among the teachers and employees of the Council but be extended among the guardians as well.
Only then there can be quality education in Manipur, advisor of the Organisation L Tomba has stated during a press conference at its Palace Compound office here today.
Tomba said that bringing out the Manual on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (for Class XI and XII) by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur after a long wait of 24 years is appreciable.
Since the manual has worked out all the details of the academic activities to be taken up from 2011 to 2012, the awareness of the manual should not be just confined among the teachers and the employees of the Council.
The guardians should also be given the necessary awareness in this regard.
Only then there can be quality education.
Because education of students today is an important issue that concern not just the teachers but also the guardians, Tomba added.
Pointing out that efforts for bringing out similar manuals for CBSE and Board of Secondary Education, Manipur are also underway, Tomba observed that all these developments are in the right direction.
Introduction of INSPIRE Scheme under the Ministry of Science and Technology, which would ensure financial assistance of Rs 80,000 to students who have passed class XII in pursuance of higher education for five years is also appreciable, Tomba said.
