Senapati, January 31 2016:
Reiterating its presidential council decision to reject any form of agitation or bandh by any organization(s) in its jurisdiction without proper consent and prior information, the Naga Peoples' Organization (NPO) has declared that the proposed highway bandh of ANSAM and KSO-GHQs will not be allowed in Senapati district.
According to its information and publicity wing, the stand of the apex body comes a day after the student bodies decided to impose a highway bandh on all the highways of the State against the Government's apathy towards different issues raised by both the student bodies.
The NPO added that it is never against the issues raised by both ANSAM and KSO-GHQs but added that the failure on the part of any organization to respect the collective decision of the NPO presidential council is avoidable.
Reiterating its stance that the NPO will unconditionally stand for the rights and genuine issues of the people it however said that anyorganization or individual failing to adhere to its directives and resolution is unfortunate.
Any form of agitation or event organized in Senapati district must come with the consent and approval of the NPO, it stated.
