AR celebrates Christmas, meets village chiefs

Assam Rifles celebrated Christmas with the local community at Bungte Chiru community hall in Kangpokpi district on Thursday with enthusiastic participation from over 250 residents including children, women, and elders, highlighting the spirit of unity and joy.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the celebration commenced with a Christmas prayer, followed by carol singing by children, which infused the gathering with piety and festive cheer.
The Assam Rifles personnel shared sweets spreading smiles among attendees, especially the children.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles organised an interaction with village chiefs and local leaders at Sehlon village in Chandel district with focus on spreading awareness about various government welfare schemes in the fields of education, employment and support for the elderly.
During the interaction, Assam Rifles emphasised the need for village chiefs to actively disseminate information about the schemes to their communities.
Special attention was given to motivating the youth to enrol in pre-recruitment training programmes conducted by Assam Rifles, the PRO added.
