A closed door meeting between the striking JAC led by its president RK Madhuryajit and the government represented by chief secretary Rakesh along with high ranking officials was convened from 6.30 am till 8 pm late this evening at the chief secretary's office.
However no conclusive agreement could be reached during the meeting, according to a reliable source.
The meeting which was initiated on behalf of government by the chief secretary was attended by vice president S Narendra, L Makutkiran, secretary general Th Inaocha, secretary (org), N Tomba, secretary (adm), Kh Hither and publicity secretary N Priyobrata apart from Madhuryyajit.
According to sources, during the course of the meeting, the government put forward their earlier proposals, particularly restoration of HRA and TA from April 2002, but the JAC did not agree.
The JAC in its turn strongly argued against the victimization of employees on the dies non issue.
They also wanted to know from the government if release of pay for work charge for electricity department was initiated why not the same for other departments.
As both sides could not come to an amicable understanding, talks are due to resume on Monday from 10.30 am at the chief secretary's office, it was learnt.
