Imphal, December 30 2021:
Thangmeiband AC MLA Khumukcham Joykisan has stated that some people coming out to make political capital out of local club building is rather unfortunate.
He added that the situation would be more distressing if a local club president starts indulging in corrupt activities.
The MLA said these while inaugurating an office building of Naharol Leishemba Club (NLC) and a veterinary dispensary at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, today.
The programme was also attended by Director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Ch Nandakishore and NLC president Pratap Leishangthem.
At the occasion, Joykisan continued that he is elated to inaugurate the office building of NLC before the Assembly elections as assured.
The MLA thanked the locals of Thangmeiband for their cooperation in constructing the club building.
Reminding that the office building of NIS A Football Club was constructed when he was president of the football club, the MLA said that NIS A won State football league three times and CC Meet during his presidency.
"It is embarrassing that a particular person took Rs 4 lakh from a woman on the pretext of giving a space at NISA office building for running a shop," the MLA claimed and added that some people drawing his name into the wrongdoing is disappointing.
He then urged the Thangmeiband United Club to look into the matter at the earliest.
The MLA, on the other hand, assured that black topping of all roads within Thangmeiband AC would be completed before the election code of conduct becomes effective.
There was some delay in road construction works due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he clarified.
