With the exception of Tamenglong, Chandel...ADCs to be installed today

With the exception of Tamenglong and Chandel, Autonomous District Councils of all other hill districts including Sadar Hills would be installed tomorrow.
Haokholal Hangshing and Thangjakam Misao have been already elected leader and deputy leader of Sadar Hills ADC respectively.
As for Tamenglong ADC and Chandel ADC, no one has staked claim to form ADCs with the support of majority Members.
As such, the two ADCs were not included in the notification issued for election of Chairmen, stated Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Gaikhangam who is also the MPCC president and the Deputy Chief Minister.
For installation of Sadar Hills ADC where the ruling Congress party enjoys majority, a meeting was held today at Congress Bhavan with MPCC president Gaikhangam in the chair.
Chief Minister O Ibobi, Cabinet Ministers Phung-zathang Tonsing, Ngamthang Haokip, Hill Areas Committee Chairman Dr Chaltonlien Amo, MPCC District Council in-charge Victor Keishing, MLA Nemcha Kipgen and newly elected Congress ADC Members were present at the meeting.
The meeting elected Haokholal Hangshing (elected from Kangpokpi DCC) and Thangjakam Misao (elected from Saikul DCC) as leader and deputy leader of Sadar Hills ADC.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Gaikhangam stated that Tamenglong and Chandel would be left out from the ADC installations scheduled tomorrow for no one has staked claim to form ADCs in the two districts.
If any party or group of parties can show support by majority Members, due process would be initiated for installation of ADC in the two districts without any delay, Gaikhangam assured.
Meanwhile, NPF has submitted a memorandum to the Governor today about exclusion of Tamenglong and Chandel from the scheduled installation of ADCs.
NPF Manipur president Awangbow Newmai told The Sangai Express said that an NPF team led by MLA Dikho called on the Governor at 11 .
30 am today and talked about exclusion of Tamenglong and Chandel from the scheduled installation of ADCs as well as the State's prevailing law and order situation.
The Governor reportedly assured the NPF team that he would take up the matter with the Chief Minister.
Polling for election of the Senapati ADC Chairman would be held at 12.30 pm tomorrow before the new Chairman is sworn in at 2 pm.
