Oil tankers to take Kedima road

Imphal, July 30 2013:
Oil tankers will start moving to ship in fuel via Mao-Pudunamei-Kedima road with CRPF escorts from the intervening night of July 31 and August 1 .
With Mao-Pudunamei-Kedima road repaired to a traffic worthy stage, a decision was adopted to take the same road for shipping in fuel for some days during a meeting held today.
Among others, the meeting convened by CAF&PD Minister M Okendro was attended by Mao AC MLA Dikho, Tadubi AC MLA Alexander Pou and officials of IOC Imphal office.
During the meeting, Dikho stated that a bull dozer and an excavator would be stationed on the road ready to be pressed into service in case oil tankers need their service while along the road.
As decided at the meeting, CAF&PD Additional Secretary M Yaiskul has issued an office memorandum for movement of oil tankers via Mao-Pudunamei-Kedima road with CRPF escorts.
Meanwhile, IOC has started mobilising empty oil tankers which would be going to ferry fuel oils with CRPF escorts starting from the intervening night of July 31 and August 1, said an information received from IOC's Chingmeirong depot.
