Imphal, October 29 2015: A joint team of Singjamei police and Imphal West district police commandos have recovered 10 stolen vehicles including two Alto cars from two different areas of Lilong today.

Under the supervision and instruction of Imphal West SP Dr AK Jhalajit, the police team led by Singjamei police station OC N Ingocha conducted a raid at Ibobi Workshop located at Litan Makhong acting on a specific information at around 7 am, said a source.

The owner of the workshop had already fled before the police team reached the workshop.

The stolen vehicles being taken away by cops

Eight different two-wheeler vehicles, which were found hidden in the workshop, were brought by the police team to Singjamei police station.

The seized vehicles include one Pulsar bike (MN04D-1033), two R-15 bikes (MN01V-6284 and MN04D-0157), one Hunk bike (MN01Y- 5563), three Honda Activas (MN01N-4857, MN01Q-1443 and one numberless) and one Honda Dio (MN01C-2592) .

Later, the police team went to the house of the workshop located at Lilong Lairabakhong and found three Alto cars hidden at the residential complex.

However, the police team could seize only two cars (MN07D-2055 and one number less) as the locals of the area erupted in protest against them.

The chassis numbers and engine numbers of the cars were found tampered.
