The two day symposium organized by the Democratic People's Party under the theme 'New Manipur' pin-pointed the major areas of concern that have afflicted the State for long.
A seven point resolution was also adopted after the two day symposium which concluded today at Hotel Excellency.
Among others the resolutions said that widespread disparities in economic development and social distance under false notion of growth and modernization have resulted in sharp divide in the body polity of the State and the State is torn asunder by ethnic differences and emotional alienation amongst the people.
DPP said that social and economic policies which emphasize the deep unity and equality of all the people and which is conducive to equitable distribution of wealth and resources should the aim of political parties, civil societies, clubs and institutions.
This will help in bridging the gap amongst the people.
The failure of the national parties and the regional parties during the last 30 years or so have further deepened the sense of alienation and the people of Manipur have felt a great sense of despair and frustrations arising out of the dubious political culture in the State, said the resolutions.
