Officials today collected sample of soil of Yaithibi Loukon� where the Sports university is proposed to be set up�for necessary test.
At the same time, the Govt has decided to widen the road stretch from Lilong to Ushoipokpi.
Officials of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports collected samples of soil of Yaithibi Loukon for necessary test.
State officials informed this to Chief Minister O Ibobi during a review meeting held today in connection with the construction of the Sports University.
The review meeting was presided by the Chief Minister and attended by officials of Revenue and YAS Departments.
Necessary works for setting up of the university are in progress, the officials told the CM during the meeting, according to a source.
Some land owners have offered their land for the university even after the State Govt handed over 260 acres of land to the Ministry concerned for the construction of the varsity.
And the total land area available now for the university is 300.15 acres, the CM was reportedly told.
It has been planned to start the session of the university from June this year at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
The Central Govt is also making hectic efforts to pass the Sports University Bill in the current Parliament session.
Meanwhile, another meeting of Revenue Dept and PWD officials presided by the CM decided to widen the stretch of road from Lilong to Ushoipokpi.
It was decided during the meeting that the road will be expanded by 10 ft each on both sides, the source said.
