12 year old boy, man found dead

A 12 year old boy was found dead near Imphal Barrage, Oinam Sawombung Awang Leikai, Imphal West district under Wangoi police station.
Another man was also found dead at Nongbram.
Oinam Sharif alias Muba alias Kondung (12) s/o Dilawar alias Goroba of Oinam Sawombung Awang Leikai was found dead inside a thicket on the western bed of Imphal river, just a few metres away from Imphal Barrage at around 1.30 pm today.
The spot where he was found dead is not far from his home.
Injury marks made by a sharp object were seen on the right side of his abdomen and the lower half of his body was naked.
According to information culled from the spot, Sharif went out at around 4.30 pm yesterday.
Since then, he could not be traced.
He was a student of Little Master English Higher Secondary School, Samurou.
Dilawar, who hawks socks at Samurou Keithel, said that they were searching for Sharif since 8.30 pm yesterday.
People of the neighbourhood were looking for him using the PA system fitted on the local Masjid.
"But he was found dead on the river bed very close to our home this afternoon", said the bereaved father.
Sharif's mobile phone was also found switched off.
Together with a team of Wangoi police station, forensic experts have scanned the site where the boy was found dead.
Later police picked up and deposited the corpse at RIMS mortuary following which a case following which a case has been registered.
Meanwhile, a public meeting was held today at Oinam Sawombung in connection with the death of Sharif.
In accordance to a resolution of the meeting, a joint action committee has been constituted.
The JAC, suspecting some foul play, has asked the Government to conduct a thorough investigation and book the culprits by December 31 .
On the other hand, a man was found dead in front of Nongbram Government LP School, Imphal East district under Yairipok police station this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Irom Ingocha (45) s/o late Kulachandra of Yairipok Leirongthel.
He left home on December 25.Injury marks were seen on his face and neck.
After examination by forensic experts, the corpse has been deposited at JNIMS mortuary.
