Imphal, September 28 2012:
Reacting the recent 'homecoming ceremony' organized by Assam Rifles at its IGAR (S) headquarters at Mantripukhi, Kuki National Liberation Front/Kuki People's Army (KNLF/KPA) has asserted that it was just a dramatic scene created to appease the Home Ministry of India.
Contradicting the claim of the Assam Rifles that out of the 114 UG cadres surrendered on September 16, 12 of them belong to KNLF, Joint Secretary of Information and Publicity Department KNLF/KPA Sumand Kuki contended that the homecoming ceremony was totally fake, baseless, concocted and mockery set up by Assam Rifles to tarnish the image of the group and no KNLF have ever surrendered before the Assam Rifles.
Sumand observed that KNLF/KPA is fighting for the independence of Manipur in which the Kukis would have autonomy in their land.
So, no KNLF cadre would simply surrender into the enemy's hand.
The 'Home Coming' was the design of Assam Rifles in nexus with some leaders of the vested SoO Groups and businessmen who lure drug addicts and jobless street boys with money.
