CM details rescue act of Kpi cops

A team of Kangpokpi police rescued two Assamese who were abducted by unknown miscreants on August 25 last at around 1.30 pm, today.
In a Facebook post, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that Kangpokpi police received information on August 26 that three persons from Assam who came to Kangpokpi were abducted the previous day.
One of them was released on August 26 to bring Rs 50 lakh as ransom, read the post adding that the district police learnt of his release after he reached Bokajan, Assam on August 27 morning.
Saying that the Assam police along with the released 'victim' reached Kangpokpi HQ in the intervening night of August 27 and 28, the CM said four police teams were formed including Assam police to carry out the rescue operation under the supervision of Kangpokpi SP Karthik Malladi.
The released victim was asked by the kidnappers to come to a certain location with the ransom money, he said and added that after a discrete operation of over 6 hours, one person was arrested by the police.
The other kidnappers escaped into the jungle on seeing the police teams, the Facebook post said and maintained that two abducted persons were rescued safely by the police.
The Police teams are on hunt to nab the kidnappers while the rescued persons have been handed over to Assam police, he said.
