New regulations for July likely soon

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that a review meeting will be held tomorrow with doctors, health workers, officials and experts regarding COVID-19 restrictions in the State and new regulations will be announced for July after the review meeting.
Decisions will be taken on whether the restrictions that are currently in place will be relaxed or continued in July, the Chief Minister added.
The Government is also considering whether vaccinated people should be allowed to perform routine businesses, he added.
The Government understands the woes and sufferings of the public due to the various restrictions that have been put in place in the wake of the second wave of the pandemic and it is being discussed on the new course of actions that will best benefit the public without compromising their safety, he added.
The Chief Minister said this while attending a mass vaccination programme organised by Laipham Khunou Youth Development Club (LKYDC) at its office building today.
He lauded the works done by LKYDC in the fight against COVID-19.229 people were given the first dose of the vaccine while 5 got the second dose at the vaccination camp today.
Mass vaccination programmes were also conducted at Govindagram in Wangoi AC and at 25 vaccination centres in Imphal East.
The mass vaccination at Govindagram was held under the supervision of Agricultural Minister Oinam Lukhoi in collaboration with officials of the Health Department and members of local clubs.
Speaking at the vaccination programme, Oinam Lukhoi said vaccination is one of the best ways to protect from the pandemic and urged everyone to observe all Covid related SOPs.
The mass vaccination camps at Imphal East have vaccinated a total of 1.25 lakh people till last week and it also vaccinated 200 people today.
In another instance, a mass vaccination cum testing camp for the locals of Yaiskul AC was organised today under the supervision of Labour Minister Th Satyabrata at Juvenile Learners Club at Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai.
