Senapati, August 27 2013:
The next round of tripartite talks on 'Alternative Arrangement' involving United Naga Council (UNC), Government of India and Manipur Government will be held on August 30 in New Delhi.
"Let my Naga people be informed of the need to be prepared for what could happen in the next day depending on the response of the Government of India taking forward the process already put in place to its political end," said UNC President L Adani, while addressing the gathering during the observation of 65th Anniversary of the 'Martyrs' Day' organised by Mao Council under the aegis of UNC at Mao Gate today.
L Adani said that the ongoing movement for securing Alternative Arrangement outside the Manipur Government has been registering history with the democratic process of tripartite talks.
"We have placed our position--on our history and democratic rights and the dialogue process will now be entering into its 6th round," stated Adani.
He then said that all the Nagas are onboard the Naga-boat in the ocean of history.
"We must be firm as a people.
The Naga boat, the UNC boat should not be rocked and endangered.
It must not be allowed to spin into confusion," the UNC president added.
He then urged," Everyone on-board must row together in tandem, in unison and in the logical and defined direction of our political aspiration" .
Delivering a solidarity message, All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) President Seth Sathshang said that India had attained Independence several decades ago but it has not stopped killing the Nagas.
Mao Council President Chakho Romeo said that Nagas are suffering today because of the Naga issue and asked the Nagas not to dry their tears until they are integrated.
Today's programme was organised to commemorate an event of 1948 where some Nagas were shot dead by security forces at Mao Gate.
