Imphal, May 27 2016 : A combined team of Imphal west district police commandos and 45 Assam Rifles troops arrested the self styled general secretary of KCP (MC) and two cadres of PREPAK (Pro) along with a cache of explosive materials and a pistol last night.

A reliable source said that the security team was supervised by Imphal West Additional SP (Operations) Th Vikramjit, and led by Imphal West Dy SP (commando) Sachidananda and Imphal West Commando OC P Sanjoy.

The arrested PREPAK (Pro) cadres have been identified as Naoroibam Joyshankar alias Khougang alias Loyumba s/o Ingocha of Lairikyengbam Leikai and Kangabam Roshan s/o (L) Gogo of Bamon Leikai Thangapat.

The general secretary of KCP (MC) has been identified as Wahengbam Ramananda alias Rousow alias Luwangngngamba (40) s/o (L) W Biren Singh of Kontha Ahallup.

Police recovered one lethod gun with four lethod shells, four C4 explosive cakes, one IED bomb fitted in a pipe, one mobile phone, batteries and wires from Naoroibam Joyshankar and one pistol along with five live rounds from Ramananda.

Ramananda and Roshan were picked up after the arrest of Joyshankar from Kairang Mamang Leikai.

The source further said that Joyshankar and Roshan revealed that both of them were involved in the killing a PREPAK (Pro) cadre at Mongbung in Senapati district in November 2015 .

They said that the pistol recovered from the possession of Ramananda was used in committing the crime.

The source further stated that the arrested cadres revealed that they had plans to explode the seized IEDs in Imphal prior to upcoming raising day of PREPAK (Pro).

They were also planning to attack security forces using the lethod gun.
