COVID claims 3 more, positive cases spike by 100

The State's COVID-19 death toll has reached 344 after three individuals succumbed to the virus during the last 48 hours.
Three males, all hailing from Imphal East and aged 48, 64 and 74 expired at JNIMS.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 100 civilians were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 48 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal West, Hillside Hospital, Jivan Hospital, Advance Hospital, Tamenglong, Mother's Care Hospital, Lamjingba Hospital, IRL, Escent Diagnostics, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, Thoubal and Babina Diagnostics.
They belong to Imphal West (41), Imphal East (41), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (6), Kakching (3), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (4) and Churachandpur (1) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand, 158 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 48 hours from CAPF (7), home isolation (80), RIMS (6), JNIMS (15), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (10), Shija Hospital (9), Ukhrul (5), Raj Medicity (2), RD Wing (5), Chandel (1), Bal Bhavan (6), Noney (2), Kasom Khullen (3), Moreh (1), Chandel (1) and Bishnupur (5) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 27,976 (general population 24,603 and Central security personnel 3,373).This figure includes 1,301 active cases (general population 1,153 and Central security personnel 148) and 26,331 discharged cases (general population 23,110 and Central security personnel 3,221) .
The recovery rate has further improved to 94.11 per cent.
