11 more die in last 72 hours to take toll to 249

Imphal, November 26 2020:
Eleven persons died of COVID-19 in the last 72 hours taking the death toll to 249 while the total number of positive cases has climbed to 24,292 .
In the last 24 hours, four persons succumbed to COVID-19 and 159 tested positive for the virus, according to a report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room issued by Additional Director, Health, Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The four victims include one 68-year-old man and a 55-year-old man from Imphal West district, one 75-year-old woman from Churachandpur and a 40-year-old man from Bishnupur district.
According to another report issued on November 25, there were five deaths due to COVID-19 .
The five include one 39-year-old man and another 44-year-old man from Imphal East, one 57-year-old man from Churachandpur, one 55-year-old woman from Bishnupur and a 70-year-old woman from Imphal West.
On November 24, the State recorded two deaths, one man and a woman at Raj Medicity.
Meanwhile, the latest report of COVID-19 Common Control Room said 159 persons, all without significant travel history, tested positive for the disease.
The 159 including 40 females hail from Imphal West (73), Imphal East (43), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (11), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (4), Tamenglong (3), Kangpokpi (2), Ukhrul (2), Senapati (2), Chandel (2), Churachandpur (1) and Kakching (1) .
They are being shifted to Covid Care Centres and all necessary medical precautionary measures are in place, said the report.
158 persons have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
While 107 of them recovered from the disease while under home isolation, the remaining have been discharged from Covid care centres opened at RIMS (39), LKK (4), UNACCO (2), Sadbhavna (3), TK Ukhrul (1), Bishnupur (1) and Jiribam (1) .
The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 24,292 including 21,220 civilians and 3,072 Central Security personnel.
The number of recovered cases has reached 20,798 including 18,038 civilians and 2,760 security personnel.
The number of active cases is 3,245 including 2,937 civilians and 308 security personnel.
The recovery rate stands at 85.61 percent, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Meanwhile, late reports from sources said 213 samples were tested at JNIMS Hospital and 71 of them were found positive for the virus.
On the other hand, 12 staff of SBI, MG Avenue have contracted the coronavirus and the district administration has shut the bank branch for 48 hours.
It may be noted that a Central team led by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, VK Dewangan is in Manipur monitoring the State's COVID-19 situation.
