Don't vote for candidates with criminal records: Luwang

Imphal, February 26 2017: Andro AC BJP candidate Dr Nimaichand Luwang has stated that he has sent a written complaint to the concerned RO to reject the nomination paper of rival Congress candidate Th Shyamkumar for hiding his criminal records on the affidavit used for filing nomination paper and for lying about this educational qualification, and appealed to the people to refrain from voting for a candidate with criminal records.

Speaking to media persons at the party's office, Dr Nimaichand Luwang said, "The Congress candidate of Andro AC, Th Shyamkumar is not free of criminal records.

He was arrested by Delhi police from Delhi airport in 2006 for conspiring with anti-national elements" .

"Shyamkumar was involved in the kidnapping and murder case of a Manipuri businessman and a leader of a banned outfit who was arrested in Delhi recently even pointed out that he was close with the Congress candidate", he alleged.

Taking pot shots at the Congress candidate, Dr Nimaichand Luwang demanded Th Shyamkumar to show his original certificates in order to confirm the authenticity of his educational qualification submitted during filing the nomination and to show if he had even passed his matriculation examination.

Nimaichand pointed out that he had sent a written complaint to the concerned RO to reject Shyamkumar's nomination as he had allegedly forged his documents.

People should not support candidates with criminal records.

BJP will win a landslide victory and form the Government after the election, he added.
