AMGSU celebrates foundation day, distributes prizes

The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union observed its 52nd Foundation Day cum Prize Distribution Ceremony of the 2nd State Level Written Quiz Competition held on September 8, 2019 at Charhajare Community Hall today.
The event was jointly organized by AMGSU Irang, SPGT, Motbung, Charhajare, Kanglatongbi and Greater Imphal Units.
T Shyam Kumar, SDC Kangpokpi; LB Adhikari, president AMGSU; Lhingtinneng Singsit, Deputy Inspector of Schools, Kangpokpi; Demkhosei Haokip, MES/AI/ZEO, Kangpokpi; Hari Maya Sangroula attended as chief guest, functional president, guest of honour and special guests respectively.

Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, T Shyam Kumar highlighted about the opportunity of the youth as IAS and MCS officers to secure their future while stressing on the importance of collecting knowledge from the textbooks and internet.
LB Adhikari, president AMGSU mentioned the crucial role of the founder members.
"Their historic contributions to the students community particularly to the Gorkha community still inspired the young generation", he maintained while appealing the concerned authority to conduct awareness programme on 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' starting from the grassroots level so that the State can lead in cleanliness parameter as compared to other states.
He continued that AMGSU is always willing to work in tandem with the government in issues related to environmental degradation and also expressed the Union's deep commitment towards any programmes associated with cleanliness drives, plantation drives and other programmes associated with the environment and is willing to work anywhere within the state for the cause.
He further said that AMGSU is willing to collaborate with the various Students' bodies of the state for the overall development of the communities and students of the State.
The Union president also thanked all the student organisations including KSO, TSA, AMSU, ATSUM, ANSAM and TKS Ukhrul for their moral support and encouragement in the conduct of the quiz competition.
AMGSU is also pleased to see the remarkable results achieved by the students from the government schools hailing from remote areas of Irang IT Road.
A total of 33 students who were successful in the 2nd Level Quiz Competition participated by 2635 students from 88 schools were felicitated in the occasion.
In the Category A (Class VI-VIII), Niran Rai of Roses English School secured the 1st position while Kritika Adhikari, Anisha Chhetry of Roses Eng High School, Kanglatongbi and L Gravita Devi of Froebel Eng School, Kanglatongbi settled at 2nd position and M Premananda Singh of Sangai Hr Sec School finished at 3rd position.
In the Category B (Class IX & X), both Vijay Poudel of Froebel English School and Darsana Adhikari of Roses English School secured the 1st position while Benjamin Kipgen of SFS, Kangpokpi settled at 2nd position and Ch Prameshwor Singh of Froebel English School, Kanglatongbi and Shansang Chamroy of Savio High School, Ukhrul finished at 3rd position.
AMGSU Ukhrul and KPI-Toribari were honoured with the award of Best exam centres for the systematic conduct and management of the Quiz programme.
