Minor girl rescued

Imphal, June 25 2021:
A team of Imphal Police have rescued the minor girl from Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak who reportedly went missing from her residential place on June 23, today.
It is reported that four individuals including three juveniles have also been picked up by the police in connection with the case.
According to a reliable information, a team of police including women personnel led by Inspector OC Ingocha under the supervision Imphal West SP Dr S Ibomcha rushed to Luker Mamang Leikai and arrested one of the accused from her house and also recovered the two-wheeler vehicle used in transporting the minor at around 4 am.
From her disclosure, the minor was rescued from the house of Sumitra Heisnam (20) at Konthoujam Mamang Leikai.
During the course of the investigation, another person (from Salam Mamang Leikai) involved in the case was arrested from her house and a few mobile handsets including that of the minor were recovered.
The victim was examined by the forensic doctor at RIMS.
She was also produced before the Child Welfare Committee, Imphal West along with a protection prayer.
Later, the arrested persons (including three who were later proven as juveniles) were produced before the Duty Magistrate Imphal West along with prayer for their remand to five days police custody for investigation of the case.
The IO of the case through APP submitted that the father of the minor lodged a missing report of his daughter before Imphal Police Station on June 23 last.
Claiming that the girl was kidnapped by two unknown ladies on June 23 last, the IO added that all the accused have admitted to the charges levelled against them.
The Court after hearing and on perusal of the case remanded Sumitra Heisnam to five days police custody while other three juveniles were ordered to be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board tomorrow.
