21 cases against SHDDC leaders

Altogether 21 FIR cases have been registered against leaders of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) and one case against the United Naga Council in connection with the highway blockades being imposed by the two organisations.
Although the State Government has instructed the Police Department to nab the SHDDC leaders, they remain at large till date.
A high-ranking police officer informed that 21 cases have been registered against SHDDC leaders at Kangpokpi police station in connection with various violent incidents that took place since the agitation for upgrading Sadar Hills into a full fledged district was launched.
Senapati police has also registered a case against the UNC.
Even as the ADC Kangpokpi issued a notification yesterday as per instructions from the Government directing all concerned to deposit their licensed guns at their nearest police stations within 48 hours, there was no report of any depositing licensed guns at police stations till date, informed the officer.
