Fast unto death stir continues

The fast unto death protest agitation staged at Singjamei Thongkhong demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State and removal of the wanted tag off former JCILPS convener Khomdram Ratan continue unabated.
Two students namely Ningthoukhongjam Anand of Johnstone Higher Secondary School and Nameirakpam Chingkheinganba of CC Higher Secondary School continued their hunger strike which began from July 19 at Singjamei Thongkhong.
Earlier on July 21, two students of TG Higher Secondary School Tomthin- nganbi Toijam and Pangam-bam Maria who participated in the hunger strike were hospitalized after their health conditions deteriorated.
A doctor from Akampat Primary Health Centre is attending to the student protesters.
To avoid undue disturbances at the protest site, students and local people prevented heavy vehicles and auto-rickshaws from passing through Singjamei Thongkhong area and from Bheigyabati Leikai to Kshetri Leikai.
The hunger strike is organized by the JAC Against the Announcement of Wanted Tag on JCILPS Leader Kh Ratan.
The strike also demanded that a new Bill must be tabled by the State Government in the upcoming Legislative Assembly session.
