Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) has condoled the untimely demise of NG Peter, who was the first IPS officer to be appointed as ADPG from among the tribal community of Manipur.
In a statement, President of Zeliangrong Union (AMN) Amu Kamei described the demise of NG Peter as a great loss for the people of Manipur and said that vacuum left behind would be hard to fill in days to come.
He was a God fearing person, who performed his duty with dedication without any partiality over caste, creed or religion, Amu Kamei said, while conveying that Zeliangrong Union (AMN) also shared in the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family members.
NNN adds: The United Naga Council (UNC) and the Naga People's Front (NPF) in separate statements have expressed their grief over the demise of Additional DGP Peter Ngahanyui (IPS) this morning.
The NPF said death of Peter Ngahanyui was a great loss for the society.
Terming him as an upright police officer, NPF said Peter was a gentleman who was liked by people.
Meanwhile, the UNC said Peter was one of the patriotic Naga officer who was victimised for his straight forwardness and selfless service by the Government of Manipur.
The UNC shares the grieve and the sorrow of the bereaved family members.
It also prays for the departed soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode," the UNC stated.
Both the UNC and NPF then extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of late Peter Ngahanyui.
