Sheileja Maibam bags Mrs India Karnataka first runner up title

Imphal, August 21 2021: Combining beauty with brains and grace, Mrs Sheileja Maibam from Manipur has secured the Classic Mrs India Karnataka First Runner up title and the subtitle Mrs Best Hair in Mrs India Karnataka, the largest pageant for married women with growth to National and premium international pageants organised by Mrs Pratibha Saunshimath which was held at Bangalore on August 11.The Karnataka State finals was a three day event at the resort, Ramada Wyndham in Bengaluru, with various activities, including personal interview round, talent competition, various sports from western to Indian games like lagori, Gilli danda and kho kho, loads of photo shoots, grooming and choreography and grand stage finals on August 11 with a common question at the end.

Sheilaja gave credit to her three children who always believe in her, her best friends Inderjeet Kaur and Roohi Sharma, who inspired her to be part of this prestigious contest and also to her father-in-law, Maisnam Ibohal Singh, her parents Maibam Ibomcha Singh and Maibam ongbi Radhesana Devi who always support her in every endeavour.

Lastly, to Irengbam Angabala, who helped her with the Potloi for the ethnic round.

Excelling at beauty pageants is not something new for Sheilaja, having been crowned Miss Manipur in 1997, Miss Kut 1995, Miss Phouoibi 1995 and Miss Beautiful Hair (Miss North East '95) .

She is extremely grateful to her late grandmother Hourungbam Nupimacha Devi who cared for her hair with the traditional Chenghi which has led her to win the coveted Best Hair title twice.

She will be representing Manipur in Mrs India next year.

She says, "Age is just a number.
